City Council Highlights February 23, 2026

The City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, February 23, 2026. Here are the highlights:

  • Twin Pines Development Contract: City Council approved the Plat and PUD for a 96-unit multi-family development for a site on School Boulevard.  
  • Musical Garden Donation: The City Council accepted the Monticello Rotary Club’s donation of $32,378 to install a permanent outdoor musical instrument installation at Ellison Park for all ages and abilities. The installation is fully funded by the donation. 
  • Presentation of Data Center Ordinance for Consideration: City Council discussed the Data Center Ordinance, which was recommended for approval by the Planning Commission earlier this month. Approval of the ordinance was not put to vote during the meeting; Council will continue to discuss the ordinance at the next meeting.

Data Center Ordinance Update #6 - February 3, 2026

Last week, the Planning Commission held its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 3. A revised data center (DCPUD) ordinance returned to the agenda for consideration. We will update when the ordinance is expected to be brought before the City Council.

Data Center Ordinance Update #5 - November 14, 2025

Read the latest on the City's approach to developing a zoning ordinance to address potential private data center developments within the City. This update follows the fourth Special Joint Workshop of the Planning Commission and City Council on Monday, November 10, 2025. At the workshop, officials reviewed the latest revision of the draft ordinance. The draft ordinance is expected to be brought to the Planning Commission for a public hearing on December 2, 2025.
