Tree Inspection

Inspecting trees for infectious tree diseases is a routine service offered by the City of Monticello in an effort to maintain the vitality of the community's urban forest. If the City Forester or Tree Inspector identifies Dutch Elm Disease or Emerald Ash Borer infected trees on your property, they will be clearly marked with green paint "X" and green tape. You will also be sent a notification letter providing you with the information for removal.

Tree inspections are performed by our certified arborists during the growing season, typically from June to August. You can also report a potential diseased tree via our Request Form.
