Monticello, MN – On Monday, October 27, 2025, the City Council adopted an ordinance to implement a gas energy franchise fee on CenterPoint Energy Minnesota Gas. This new fee will provide a dedicated funding source for the City’s pavement management program and reduce reliance on large property assessments for street maintenance projects.

Monticello, MN – The City of Monticello will begin work on the Golf Course Road (CSAH 39) Trail project on Monday, September 22. The project will install a 10-foot-wide bituminous trail along the north side of Golf Course Road, extending from Elm Street to 7^th Street. 

Monticello, MN – The City of Monticello has been awarded an $81,160 grant by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to strengthen the City’s urban tree population, with a focus on community engagement and involvement.
