Parks, Arts & Recreation
Mission Statement
The Monticello Parks, Arts & Recreation Department is committed to providing a variety of recreational and educational opportunities for the citizens of Monticello, as well as residents of surrounding communities. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life through the arts and recreation programs, events, and facilities we provide, while preserving and maintaining natural areas, open space, and native habitat. We will strive to provide the highest level of service to our citizens, while balancing the needs of present and future generations.
Programs, Services & Events
- Attend exciting events like Movie in the Park, Music on the Mississippi, and Walk & Roll.
- Participate in fitness opportunities for all ages and abilities at the Monticello Community Center (MCC). The MCC also offers access to a pool, waterslide, and spas. Check out the MCC's membership options.
- Join popular recreational sports leagues such as flag football and pickleball.
- Stroll through the Farmers Market with both indoor and outdoor seasons.
- Visit one of our beautiful public parks - we also have rental facilities available at our parks and the MCC!

Parks, Arts & Recreation Commission (PARC)
PARC develops and reviews plans for parks and recreational facilities, develops recreation programs, reviews parkland dedications for new subdivisions, and makes recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council.
